Lambeth Libraries Workshop 2/2/21, 7-8pm A talk and interactive workshop discussing how Book 28 Library came about and how the pandemic has affected our work. Book a place on Eventbrite Throwback Storytime 10/2/21, 7-9pm Drop in to hear readings from queer stories, poems and zines. No need to interact, just switch off your camera and listen - or, if you feel like it, bring something to read yourself! Only rule: everything we read is from the year 2000 or earlier. Join through the virtual Café Queero when it's time Fantasy + Sci-Fi, LGBTIQ + Disability 13/2/21, 2-3pm We will start this workshop by interviewing Lloyd, a member of Rainbows Friends. Rainbow Friends is a "social group for people who identify as/with LGBTQ and a learning disability". We will talk with Lloyd about his love of reading sci-fi and fantasy books, and how he never got to see any LGBTIQ+ or disabled characters. In the second part of the workshop, we will think up our own LGBTIQ+ and disabled sci-fi/fantasy characters and share them with the group through descriptions, writing or drawing. Join through the virtual Café Queero when it's time Exploring Polari in Theatre 17/2/21, 7-8pm Zhoosh your riah, don your Aunt Nellie fakes, and ask the hoofers for a wallop: exploring Polari in theatre! Come hear Roni Neale talk about the then and now of Polari, the LGBTIQ+ community, and the theatre, and expand your knowledge of our history, our language, and our art.
